Present Day

Robyn's son, “Sachenda Soldier Soldier" had a very successful puppy career. He was Best Puppy in Breed at Leeds Ch. Show, Best Puppy Dog at Bournemouth Ch. Show, Best Puppy in Show at Yorkshire Collie Club Open Show and Best Rough Puppy & Reserve Best Puppy in Show at British Collie Open Show, only beaten by the smooth collie. He was only once placed lower than third in his entire puppy career. “Tucker” finished 2000 being the Top Puppy Dog, Reserve to the British Collie Club Ladypark Points Trophy Winner and gained the most points to qualify as Top Puppy for the East Anglian Collie Association Puppy of the Year Competition, which he was unfortunately unable to attend due to lack of coat! He also gained his J. W. and Stud Book No.

"Tucker" returned to the ring in 2001 and continued to be consistently highly placed, firstly taking 2nd in his class at Crufts, then Reserve Best Dog at both the Collie Association Open Show and Yorkshire Collie Club Open Show and culminating in the Reserve C.C. at National Working & Pastoral Breeds Ch. Show under Dave Weller. In Feb 2002 at London & Provincial Collie Open Show Tucker was awarded Best Dog, Reserve Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex in Show and at London Collie Club Open Show (Jan 2003) he was Reserve Best Dog.

During 2004 "Tucker" really excelled himself by taking Reserve Best Dog at  the East Anglian Collie Association Open Show, the British Collie Club Open Show and the Midland Collie Club Open Show, Best in Show at the Collie Association Open Show and the C.C. at Three Counties Championship Show under John Ritchie.

At the British Collie Open Show in June 2005 Tucker was Reserve Best Dog. He has started 2006 well with the same award at the Yorkshire Collie Club Open Show in February.

“Sachenda Red Red Rosebud” was somewhat overshadowed by her brother as a puppy but “Briar” took Best Puppy Bitch at British Collie Open Show only beaten by Tucker for Best Puppy. Since her return to the ring as an adult, in 2001 she won Best in Show at East Anglian Collie Association Open Show and Reserve C.C. at Collie Association Ch. Show under Derek Smith. She also gained her Stud Book No. Briar continued in 2002 with Best in Show at London & Provincial Collie Club Open Show - just pipping her brother at the post - and was placed 3rd in her class at Crufts. Later in 2002 she was awarded Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show at East Anglian Collie Association Open Show, Best in Show at London Collie Open Show and a second Reserve C.C. at Yorkshire Collie Ch. Show under Francis Kaye - all within a four week period!

In 2004 "Briar" was consistently highly placed culminating in the C.C. & Best of Breed at Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show under Ian Brazier. She made a very impressive start to the 2005 when she was awarded her second C.C. with Best of Breed at Scottish Breeds Championship Show under Sandra Wigglesworth and the following week her third and crowning C.C., also with Best in Show at the Collie Club of Wales Championship Show under Carole Smedley, to become Champion Sachenda Red Red Rosebud!

Briar" has also proved to be a valuable brood bitch, as at the end of 2000, she had a lovely litter by Ch. Sandiacre Sacre Bleu from which we kept two puppies, a dog and a bitch. They both made a good account of themselves in their puppy classes during 2001 and both subsequently qualified for Crufts 2002.

The bitch being "Sachenda Strawbree Rose" who was awarded Best Puppy in Breed at Birmingham Ch. Show, Best Puppy in Show at East Anglian Collie Ass. Open Show - just beating her brother! - and Best Puppy Bitch at Ayrshire Collie Ch. Show, London Collie Open Show and British Collie Open Show where she was also Reserve Best Puppy in Show. "Rianne" also gained her J. W. and Stud Book Number at only 11 months! We were delighted that she was joint Reserve in the British Collie Ladypark Points Trophy Competition 2001 making this the second year running that a puppy from this kennel has won this award! Rianne had a quiet year in 2002 but she still managed to take Reserve Best Bitch at East Anglian Collie Association Open Show. She made her presence felt last year taking the Reserve C.C. at Lancashire & Cheshire Collie Club Ch. Show under Eleanor Kitchen and Reserve Best Bitch & Reserve Best in Show at Yorkshire Collie Open Show.

After rearing a litter, "Rianne" returned to the ring in the summer of 2004 to completely steal the show at The Irish Collie Club Championship Show by taking the C.C. and Best in Show under John Basing (Best in Show Judge Iris Cummings). She quickly followed this with her second C.C. a week later at Bournemouth Championship Show under Eleanor Kitchen and her third and crowning C.C. & Best in Show at London & Provincial Collie Club Championship Show under Valerie Geddes (Best in Show Judge Lynn Westby), becoming "Champion Sachenda Strawbree Rose JW"! That year "Rianne" was also awarded the Reserve C.C. at Darlington Championship Show under Peter Bailey and Best in Show at The East Anglian Collie Association Open Show (Oct 2004). In January 2005, at the East Anglian Region Best of Breed Winners 2004 Competition, she was awarded "Top Honours" as the overall winner.

Sachenda Stand 'n' Deliver

Rianne's brother "Sachenda Stand 'n' Deliver" took Best Puppy Dog at Midland Collie Open Show, Best Puppy in Breed & Puppy Group 2 at Darlington Championship Show and Best Opposite Sex Puppy in Show at East Anglian Collie Association Open Show and was a Runner Up in the British Collie Club Ladypark Points Trophy Competition 2001.

On returning to the ring in 2003 "Dandy" made a big impression and was awarded Best Dog, Best of Breed & Best in Show at The Collie Association Open Show and followed this with the Reserve C.C. at Southern Counties Ch. Show under Jack Wigglesworth.

Sachenda Stand 'n' Deliver

Beverly (Jayverly) had always admired Dandy and as dog shows were not his favourite pastime (in fact he found them extremely boring!), he now lives with and is adored by Bev.

From Dandy's first litter, born in July 2003, we kept a very flashy bitch puppy, namely "Sachenda Starring Role". "Roxy" was only lightly shown as a puppy but on her few outings she was consistently highly placed, qualifying for Crufts 2005, and was Reserve Best Rough Collie Bitch, Best Rough Puppy and Best Puppy  in Show at the Smooth Collie Club of Great Britain Open Show in April 2004.

"Roxy" has since reared a beautiful litter of five, sired by International & French Champion Carostar C'est La Vie, from which we kept a bitch, "Sachenda Showbiz" (see below).

On her return to the ring late in 2005, "Roxy" was consistently highly placed at both Open and Championship Shows. She has already made an excellent start to 2006 being Best in Show at the Yorkshire Collie Club Open Show at the beginning of February.

Sachenda Starring Role

In 2003, "Rianne" was mated back to her grandfather Jopium Major Tom JW ShCM. From this resulting litter we retained a bitch puppy namely Sachenda Say It With Roses JW. "Rhana" made quite an impact in the ring qualifying for Crufts 2005 on her debut and being placed in the top three in all her minor puppy and puppy classes bar one, gaining many admirers along the way. "Rhana" was Best Puppy in Show at Midland Collie Club Open Show, Best Puppy in Breed at East of England Championship Show and Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show and Best Puppy Bitch at East Anglian Collie Association Championship Show. She also gained enough points to qualify for her Junior Warrant at only 9 months of age and was a Runner Up in the British Collie Club Ladypark Points Trophy Competition 2004!

"Sachenda Showbiz" made her first appearances in the Minor Puppy classes during the summer of 2005. Although "Shona" was only shown for a short while as a puppy she was consistently highly placed at the few Championship Shows attended and qualified for Crufts 2006 with ease.

"Shona" has recently reared a lovely litter sired by Samhaven Toastmarster, from which we are currently running on two pups, namely "Sachenda Showdown" & "Sachenda Show Me Heaven"

We look forward to "Shona" making a return to the ring as an adult and her pups "Teddy" & "Meisha" making their debuts later on in the year with much anticipation!

"Rhana" and  "Shona" are in fact both eleventh generations of our homebred bitches, thus making "Meisha" the twelfth.

So for us and our dogs, this really is a family affair!

We are extremely proud to have won the most prestigious award of "Pedigree/Our Dogs"

TOP BREEDER 2004

In 1996 a bitch puppy by our own Sachenda Magnifico went to live with Jim & Morag McCarte in Scotland. A granddaughter of our Sachenda Red Red Wine, whom they had long admired, "Scarlett" had a successful puppy career which she followed by gaining her Junior Warrant and Stud Book Number. In 2001 "Scarlett" added to her wins the C.C. at Scottish Breeds Ch. Show under Angela Hodgson and the Reserve C.C. at The Irish Collie Club Ch. Show under Brenda Cooney.

In 2003 "Scarlett" really hit the big time by taking the Reserve C.C. at Scottish Collie Ch. Show under Janette Phillips and two more C.C.s at South Wales Ch. Show and Leeds Ch. Show under Judges Christine Collins & Brenda Cooney, giving her the title she so deserves and making her Champion Sachenda Scarlet O’Hara at Roughrigg!!!

Well done Scarlett!!

Thanks to Morag & Jim for campaigning her.
